Dr. Katie Boatman is from Southfield, Michigan. She wanted to be a veterinarian when she was three years old, and she was lucky enough to spend time on her grandparent’s farm in northern Michigan, where her favorite animals were the cows and goats. She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology, with a concentration in Zoo and Aquarium Science, and a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife. She then graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She had training with large animals, small animals and wildlife. Even today, she still loves cows!
She began her career in 2011 at a practice where she cared for various domestic and farm animals, from ferrets to chickens. She has a special place in her heart for goats and sheep. She now sees primarily dogs, cats, pocket pets and backyard farm animals.
Dr. Boatman lives with her partner, Ariel, and daughter, Ari. They have a wonderful kitty named Mercutio, a pupper named Sophie and a horse named Tatum. Her free time she enjoys woodworking, hiking, snowboarding, and horseback riding.
